LEAGUE OVERVIEW
LEAGUE OVERVIEW
Northbridge Youth Lacrosse was formed as a 501c3 organization in 2012. We are and have always been a 100% volunteer-run organization. Currently Northbridge Youth Lacrosse serves approximately 100 boys and girls from kindergarten through 8th Grade. Northbridge Youth Lacrosse is part of Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse and competes against teams in the West Central Region. The mission and philosophy of Northbridge Youth Lacrosse is:
Mission: Our mission is to teach, grow, and honor the game of lacrosse in our community. We do this by providing leadership, guidance, training, and structure to all our members participating in the spring game schedule and the annual Mass Youth Lax Jamboree held in June at the end of our season.
Philosophy: In the Classic league all players participate equally (i.e. equal playing time) in all Classic games.
This mission and philosophy are based on the mission and philosophy of Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse and should be the model for all youth sports.

ABOUT THE SEASON
The league splits players into four different age/grade groups for both boys’ and girls’ teams, K/1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Lacrosse is a spring sport and games are played on Sundays starting the first week of April and continue until June. The second weekend in June is the 5/6 and 7/8 team’s jamboree weekend and traditionally the season ends with the K/1/2 and 3/4 Jamboree on Father’s Day Weekend. Practices are held during the week at the high school field at the top of the hill in Whitinsville.

WINTER CLINIC
Northbridge Youth Lacrosse has started to offer a winter skills clinic to get sticks in players’ hands, which takes place in the Northbridge Middle School gym on Tuesday nights starting in January and running until the start of outside practices.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Northbridge Youth Lacrosse has been involved in many events in our community and the lacrosse community. Every year Northbridge Youth Lacrosse takes part in the annual Memorial Day and July 4th parades here in town. We have taken part in both the Northbridge and Uxbridge trunk or treat events for the last several years. Many of our coaches volunteer their time to other towns clinics to teach and grow the game of lacrosse in our region. We also have members of our board to volunteer their time on regional committees for Massachusetts Youth Lacrosse and even serve on the MYL Board of Directors.
